Grand Master (GM) Ronald E. Fugiel was born in Chicago in 1952. His father studied Sappo Jujitsu and Five Formed Fists (from Choy Li Fut) system. The military strategist who taught him called it Fuji-Kai. Fuji after the Fujian Chinese Provence. The Kai because of the Japanese aspect.
GM Ron was the youngest of four children. From as far back as he can remember he has always been intrigued with the oriental way of life. Throughout his life he would study many styles, until he found the right teacher. Sensei Donald I. Buck became his Ultimate Sensei. Two weeks after beginning classes with Sensei Don, Ron was appointed as Liaison Officer to all of Sensei's military martial arts schools. After many hours of one on one practice with Sensei Don, within his first year, Ron was promoted to Sho Dan in the School of the Tiger system.
GM Ron went on to open many schools during his military career. He was the first student to open an Internationally Sanctioned School of the Tiger. He has taught over 2,500 students, and over 20,000 in seminars ranging from a Personnel Safety Self-Awareness Program, that he and Andrew Nolan created for Airline Employees, to Special Ops Seminars for various Intelligence Agencies.
